Mark Gwynne Jones and the Psychicbread are taking to the Imperial Rooms stage with a fresh and original show packed with poetry and rhythm, intertwining voice, rootsmusic and vivid imagery. They are guaranteed to capture both your imagination and heart in this inspirational and entertaining show.
If you only see one show in Matlock this year, it should be Mark Gwynne Jones and the
Psychicbread. Described as a powerful act capable of transforming the mundane into magical
landscapes and leading an audience through bewildered innocence to laughter and dance the show
tours to the delight of audiences far and wide and for those who can’t wait, a series of cds

The sound is fresh but the form is ancient, calling to mind the traditions of the ‘bard’ –
weaving stories and images whilst tackling the complexities of our changing world with beautiful
and savage humour. Mixing contemporary narratives with ethnic percussion, piano, kora and flute,
the Psychicbread underscore and empower the spoken word through their music.
