Funding for Rural Areas

Local community groups and businesses within rural areas have the opportunity to apply for funding through Leader Local Action Groups.

Leader Local Action Groups are a community based bottom up approach within the England Rural Development Programme to address key issues within specific rural areas. The total level of Leader funding available is £105 million. Each of the Local Action Groups will provide grants to deliver area specific development plans. Each area has specific grant making priorities which can include supporting small rural business, farmers markets, tourism, the environment, etc.
